Ian is our most recently appointed Director and has over 15 years’ experience working in Highways, Utilities and Civil Engineering sectors, providing integrated contract management and commercial services to clients throughout the UK. Having begun his career as a trainee technician in 1998 and completed qualifications to HNC level in civil engineering he has a good awareness of design and site based activities.

Graduating in 2004, Ian has enjoyed roles with both contactor and PQS organisations working on nuclear, power, highways and utility contracts, specifically water. Roles have entailed QS positions on coal fired power stations, nuclear sites, the Highway Agency’s MAC in NE England, an Advanced Anaerobic Digestion project as well as various water network and sewage treatment upgrade schemes.

Ian is an experienced NEC3 practitioner, having provided training and support to clients, as well as fulfilling the role of an NEC3 ECC Project Manager on various water network, wastewater network and sewage treatment contracts. Whilst with his previous employer, Ian progressed from Quantity Surveyor through to Senior and Managing QS positions – where his achievements were recognised via nomination to attend a management development course accredited by the University of Greenwich. He attained chartered status in 2009 and has since been responsible for the development of staff, fulfilling both APC supervisor and counsellor roles to aid in their goal of achieving RICS status.

Ian has recently been appointed Regional Chairman of the North East Association of Cost Engineers Committee.
