Solomons Europe Limited And Doig & Co Prepare To Join Forces
Driven and successful chartered surveyors announce plans for strategic merger
UK, Tuesday 7th April 2015 – TWO forward-thinking chartered quantity surveying practices with roots in the north of England are soon to join forces in a move which will further widen and improve the range of services available to their client base. Solomons Europe and Doig & Co are to merge on 1st May 2015 from when they will be known as Solomons Europe Limited.
The merger is aimed at building on the two companies’ existing in-house expertise as well as their strong regional portfolio in the utilities, power, oil and gas, nuclear and heavy civil engineering sectors. Solomons Europe was established in 1998 specialising as a provider of commercial support services for the process, engineering and infrastructure sectors.
Doig & Co, founded in 2011, provides consultancy services to assist Contractors in the effective administration of construction contracts, commercial issues and avoiding project disputes. The two companies are insisting that by operating under the Solomons Europe Limited banner they will be able to offer clients enhanced service provision in terms of capacity and expertise across the spectrum of project services.
The forthcoming May Day merger is being welcomed by Managing Director of Solomons Europe Dominic Doig and his counterpart at Doig & Co John Rossiter.
Dominic Doig said: “This is a very positive change for the businesses – our two companies have been operating complimentary services for some time and John has worked extremely hard to build a strong reputation for Doig & Co as a contract navigation consultancy, forging good relationships with a number of large, prestigious clients.
“By joining forces we are able to build on both the expertise and strong brand identities of quality of service and flexibility. We see this as an extremely beneficial move not only for our clients, but also our people – in a team approaching 50 surveyors who have always shown strong commitment to ensuring continuous professional development and good practice.”
Emphasising the existing close working relationship between the two companies, John Rossiter added: “Having cut my QS teeth with Solomons some time ago, I understand the business and its services very well and have continued to work alongside the Solomons team during my time with Doig & Co.
“When we first established the business, there was a clear gap in the market for contract navigation services, and in particular NEC3® support, which we were able to use as an opportunity to quickly build our brand and reputation. Since then, clients are increasingly recognising the need to get it right first time, necessitating strong contractual and commercial expertise within project teams. This merger provides the perfect opportunity to join forces and share our experience within the Solomons team to continue to deliver tangible results for clients as part of an integrated service offering.”
