Hot on the heels of hitting the headlines in Project Control Professional magazine, Swimming with the Big Fish and the newly launched SME Matchmaker Service has made the pages of in-Cumbria Business magazine.
Solomons Europe is delivering the Swimming with the Big Fish SME Matchmaker Service for Programme and Project Partners (PPP), a 20-year framework of megaprojects which aims to transform project delivery at the Sellafield site, its supply chain and the socioeconomic landscape of Cumbria.
We have created the service to help PPP achieve its Five Critical Success Factors, which clearly outline their expectation that the framework not only delivers project outcomes but also long-term and meaningful social impact for West Cumbria.
Great emphasis has been placed on local employment, upskilling the local workforce along with financial and social investment in the West Cumbria and Cumbria region – whether that is in existing or new offices and facilities, or committing to community-based initiatives.
Our role is to proactively match the “Big Fish” bidding to deliver a wide range of packages of work with SMEs who can support them from a project perspective and, in the process, help achieve social impact targets.
We passionately believe SMEs are true wealth creators and deliverers of social impact. The SWTBF SME Matchmaker Service aims to give SMEs a golden opportunity to do this by helping them to secure the long-term contracts on offer. We’re extremely proud to be delivering a service that has huge potential to solve a conundrum that has been grappled with for decades.
The feature - which appeared in the Supply Chain focus of the August edition of in-Cumbria - includes information on how the service works, what it aims to achieve, and the perspectives of two West Cumbria based SMEs that have been through the matching process.
